This morning, during Rosary and Adoration, a prayer wove itself into my heart:
“Jesus veiled, reveal Your mystery to me.”
It led me to reflect on Christ as my Bridegroom. While I deeply long for an earthly husband and look forward to the day my love story begins, I know that this story first began in Christ. In this season of singleness, I’m learning to grow closer to Jesus, especially through the Eucharist.
Beholding the Bridegroom
The word behold means “to see or observe a thing or person, especially a remarkable or impressive one.” I ask myself: how do I behold Jesus as Bridegroom?
I picture Him waiting for me at the end of the aisle, crowned with love, welcoming me home after my earthly journey. His words echo in my heart:
“Well done, my good and faithful servant … because you were faithful in small matters … come, share your master’s joy.”
It is the small matters that matter most.
The Mystery of Marriage and Christ’s Love
Ephesians 5:25–32 tells us that Jesus prepares us to be His glorious bride. Even before a future husband enters my life, Christ already “nourishes and cherishes” me.
Marriage reflects this divine mystery:
- The husband is called to love as Christ loves the Church.
- The wife serves her husband as the Church serves Christ.
- Together, spouses are called to live as children of light, bearing goodness, righteousness, and truth.
Living in the Waiting
While I wait for my earthly vocation, I can still live my bridal call by serving God through the Mass and the Sacrament of the Eucharist. In every moment, He continues to nourish me, strengthen me, and prepare me for the love story He has already written
