Adoration Station | At the Name of Jesus Every Knee Should Bow

During Adoration today, I prayed the Rosary with special attention to the holy name of Jesus. Each time I prayed the words “and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus,” I tried to incline my head in reverence.

St. Paul writes in Philippians 2:10 that “at the name of Jesus, every knee should bow.” This inspired me to honor Him, even in something as small as bowing my head at His name. Sometimes I forgot, but I tried again on the next Hail Mary—because reverence is a practice, not a perfection.

A Love Story with Jesus

In prayer, I envisioned myself curtseying before Jesus, enthroned in the Eucharist. It felt like a scene out of a Bridgerton ball: a slow dance where our hands meet, and we mirror one another’s movements. In that moment, I realized I want to always remain that close to Jesus—allowing Him to pursue me with love.

Scripture echoes this intimacy: “Of whose love you will ever have your fill, and by her ardor always be intoxicated.”(Proverbs 5:18–19).

Meeting Him in the Eucharist

While Jesus desires to pursue us, I have to make the first move. I do that by showing up—by bowing at His name, by praying the Rosary, and by meeting Him in the Eucharist. That’s where love becomes real, and where the divine dance begins.

How do you show reverence at the name of Jesus?

I’m Amy

After learning about a saint who played tennis and hung out with her friends at coffee shops, I realized you don’t have to be a martyr or a nun to get to Heaven! Through this blog, I share that awesome truth. When I’m not writing, you can find me coding, frequenting Adoration, ice skating, or finding another corgi on Instagram to obsess over.
