About The Chiara Collective: Living Life in the Light
At The Chiara Collective, we believe every woman carries a radiant light — a reflection of God’s love — that can shine even through suffering. Inspired by the life of Blessed Chiara Luce Badano, our mission is to help young women discover their authentic identity as daughters of God and to live with joy, hope, and courage.
Who Was Blessed Chiara Luce Badano?
In 1971, in a small Italian town, Chiara “Luce” Badano was born after her parents waited over a decade for a child. She was an ordinary teenager who loved tennis, coffee shops, music, and adventures with her friends.
At 16, Chiara was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, a painful bone cancer. Even in her suffering, she radiated joy. She offered every moment to God, smiling through her pain and encouraging others — including hospital patients who were struggling with depression. Friends and nurses alike testified that Chiara’s light transformed their lives. She died in 1990 at the age of 18, joyfully telling her mother: “Be happy, because I am.”
Her story of holiness spread worldwide, and today the Church honors her as Blessed Chiara Luce Badano, a model of ordinary sanctity and youthful courage.
Our Mission
The Chiara Collective is a Catholic women’s community for young adults (ages 18–35) seeking to grow in faith, friendship, and authentic femininity. Rooted in the inspiration of Blessed Chiara, we create spaces for women to gather, reflect, and support one another.
We do this through:
- ✨ Weekly Reflections & Blogs — Catholic faith reflections, saint stories, and personal testimonies shared online.
- ✨ Instagram #MomentsOfLight — daily encouragement to find beauty and grace in ordinary life.
- ✨ Monthly Coffee Chats — in-person meetups in the Hampton Roads, VA area (Chiara loved coffee shops too!).
- ✨ Zoom Faith Nights — virtual gatherings for prayer, conversation, and community.
- ✨ Chiara’s Confetti Ministry — a creative outreach project (learn more in our menu).
Join Us
We invite all women — Catholic or seeking, practicing or returning — to walk with us. Together, we celebrate joys, carry one another through struggles, and learn how to love like Christ in every season of life.
As Blessed Chiara once said:
“We still have our hearts, and with that, we can always love.”
Let your light shine. 🌸
