The Joys of God’s Rollercoaster | Laughing Through The Fear

If there’s one thing you can be sure of in this life, it’s that God’s got you through the crazy rollercoaster ride it inevitably becomes. I was reminded of this during my recent expedition to Busch Gardens Williamsburg, when John and I rode our first rollercoaster together.

The waiting and the apprehension always builds up, and we are unsure of just how much force and impact the twists, turns, and G’s will put our body through.

But God brings us to the people who will sit beside us, offer their hand no matter how hard our death grip on it, and be brought to gleeful, joy-filled laughter through every bend, curve, and corkscrew that whips us around. As we fight through the panic and try to keep our heads lifted high, that person beside us was sent to us to help us be brave, no matter how much our brain is rattled by the time we get off the ride.

Whether this is a metaphor for your own mental health battle like it is mine, or simply your spiritual journey, may we hold on tight to both God’s hand and the hand of the gentlemen he sends us, relying on them to be brave when we struggle to find the courage.

What are the rollercoasters of your life, and how do you lean on others to find the courage to face them?

I’m Amy

After learning about a saint who played tennis and hung out with her friends at coffee shops, I realized you don’t have to be a martyr or a nun to get to Heaven! Through this blog, I share that awesome truth. When I’m not writing, you can find me coding, frequenting Adoration, ice skating, or finding another corgi on Instagram to obsess over.
