Bye to Breezewood | The Sweetness God Showed Me During My Move

This past weekend, I moved to my first house, where I’m renting a room and the accompanying utilities.

I feel so much freedom during my first week at my new place. I have a porch, rocking chairs, storage in the garage and attic, a yard with rose bushes, and a gorgeous kitchen. God has really provided for one of my biggest, most necessary asks and I couldn’t be more grateful to him for answering one of my most crucial prayers.

As stress-ridden as the big move could have been, God really showed up for me throughout the day. A key component during it was the fact that he got rid of the week’s worth of torrential rain that flooded my beachtown home. And the weather was less humid than the crushing heat wave we’ve been experiencing here in the States.

I tried to have a good attitude towards my crew of helpers (my loved ones) — moving was the last thing I wanted to be doing even though I knew it would be worth it. When I was loading the car while waiting for my mom to come help me move a last few things, I saw a rainbow streaking across the sky. Just as in God’s covenant to Abraham, God was promising me this move was the right step on my path towards healing and interior freedom.

And in another countless trip to the car, I saw periwinkle petals fluttering down in the breeze from the Crepe Myrtle in the yard across the street.

The most beautiful part, though, was when I made the first official drive to my new house, and the sunset colored the sky in gorgeous hues while Sam Cooke’s “Nothing Can Change This Love” sang out from my Spotify.

And truly, nothing can change the love I have for the Lord and where he’s led me in my life.

Similarly, I wouldn’t change everything I learned and gave at the Breezewood Bungalow. I helped my roommate on the path towards healing, both physical and mental. I gave her grace when she didn’t always grant me the same.

Just like her, I had a lot of healing to do in that house. I finally got to a place of mental health and financial success after nearly five years of sickness and self-doubt. God and his communion of saints truly saved my life. And now that I have this fresh start, I’m never going back to that place of deep depression.

Praise God through whom all blessings flow ❤️

I’m Amy

After learning about a saint who played tennis and hung out with her friends at coffee shops, I realized you don’t have to be a martyr or a nun to get to Heaven! Through this blog, I share that awesome truth. When I’m not writing, you can find me coding, frequenting Adoration, ice skating, or finding another corgi on Instagram to obsess over.
